With the Capture+ CF Express Type B cards now getting into customers hands, we thought it would be fun to pull back the curtain on how we used the cards to produce the commercial used to promote the cards.

The idea was simple: showcase a variety of typical production use cases with members of the extended Glyph team. That meant multiple camera sensors, diverse locations, different shooting styles and a team of varied creatives.

“Built by Professional, For Professionals” is not just a tagline in the video, it’s our ethos

For Creators

Unlike our previous shoot for the EX20 & EX40, we decided to highlight more than just a studio space and shoot in various locations around our home town; New York City.  We wanted to highlight that no matter where you are, the Capture+ series is ready to go to work. Be it at Rig City, storming around Central Park on a Onewheel or capturing the action at Astoria Park, we took the Capture+ cards and put them to work.

And of course in typical Glyph fashion, we put our money where our mouth is and only used Glyph storage devices for the entire production workflow. The goal here is to highlight what's possible with our gear and to help get our own creative juices flowing for what might be coming next.

As for equipment; we shot everything on the Canon EOS C500 Mark II and Canon EOS R5C, using Glyph CFexpress Type B 2TB cards. Importing was done via the Capture+ CFexpress Type B USB4 Memory Card Reader, and all editing was done directly on an assortment of Glyph EX series drives.

We teamed up with Andrew Coury from Direct Narrative and Gabriel Stanley to execute on our vision of go anywhere Cards.

Andrew and the team at Direct Narrative helped develop the original concept as well as handle the majority of the pre and postproduction needs.

Gabriel didn’t just function as our star in this campaign but was also pivotal in helping us come up with some of the more creative shots showcased in the shoot as well as capturing them.

While we loved storming around NYC, the biggest highlight of the day was linking up with local skateboarder Zack Dominguez at Astoria Skate Park. As the sun dipped low and golden hour provided cinematic light, Zak put on an absolute clinic, throwing down some seriously epic tricks. Every movement seemed perfectly timed with the fading light, giving our Canon cameras the kind of dreamy glow photographers and cinematographers endlessly chase.
